Questions parents may have regarding protocols:

There will be written protocol for the following:

• Daily temperature screenings of all students and staff, along with a daily screening questionnaire for faculty and staff, and periodic use of the questionnaire for students.
• Handling of those showing symptoms of illness.

a. BRCA will have two rooms available, one for seeing students in need of  bandages, and the second for isolating ill students.  We urge parents to be vigilant with their children, if they have a temperature prior to leaving for school, we ask that you call your physician and let them know. Please do not send your child  to school if they are not feeling well and have a temperature of 100 or more. This is for your child’s safety, and the other students as well.  

• Addressing visitors, guests, contractors, and vendors to the school, including health screenings. (Temperature check & questionnaire)
• Instructing parents/guardians on watching for signs of illness in their child that require staying home from school.
• Instructing staff and students in correct hand and respiratory hygiene.
• Ensuring all persons keep social distancing of six feet when possible.
• Instructing all to wear a face covering when social distancing can’t be maintained.
• Mask breaks for students. When students are seated at their desk and maintaining social distance they can remove the mask for lunch and during instruction time.  As an extra precaution students will have privacy shields on their desks.
• In order to safeguard students, we have capped our class size in order to abide by social distancing guidelines.

We want to know your input regarding remote learning and whether or not this would be an issue for you in terms of childcare. One of the scenarios would be to have one day of remote learning and four days of in-person instruction. At the end of the day, we want to support our parents and families, as well as ensure the safety of our students. If we were to implement this schedule it would be only until December, and after making a full assessment we would determine whether or not we would continue it through the second half of the school year.  Further information will also be forthcoming regarding Orientation night.  Once we have made a decision information will be sent out to parents.
